Everything is music

Jacob said “everything is music . . . listen.” Then he kicked a ball. He held his hand on his ear and pointed to the air conditioner, the birds singing. “There’s patterns.”

This is a kid with a mathmatical and musical mind. It’s fascinating to watch. I told him, “God’s given you a good mind. Use it for his glory, to serve him.”

  1. Indeed, everything is music. For those who hear the music, listening is a great skill. Teach him to listen past the surface to the rhythms and tones that run through God’s world.

  2. How neat to hear about Jacob’s fascination with God’s creation. He will probably be a writer and singer of psalms like David – who was fascinated by God and His creation. I’m so thankful you take time to listen to him as he explores. Love you, Mom

  3. That’s wonderful! Until it drives him crazy, like, say, he can’t sleep because he’s trying to accurately determine the two pitches made by the fan as it whirs. Not that I know anyone who’s experienced that.
